I have been keeping a secret for about 2 weeks now and it’s been killing me not to share it. I think I had to process it for a bit before blabbing. Well, now I’m ready to blab! :)

Lynne Bingham Photography had the pleasure of working with the gorgeous co-hosts, Nathalie Basha and Zuri Hall, from the new local lifestyle talk show 'Living Dayton' on Channel 2, WDTN-TV. It premiers Feb. 6th. Lynne Bingham Photography will be featured on the show on February 13th to discuss boudoir photography. How stinkin’ EXCITING is that?!?

Ahhh, yes. I love this time of year. This is prime boudoir time, baby. The cold weather tends to bring out the sex kitten in us. It’s probably because we’re snuggling to stay warm. Not to mention, it’s a great Christmas present. Or even a fantabulous surprise for those who plan ahead and have already figured out how to have the best Valentine’s Day ever. Whether it’s a leather album (aka the Little Black Book) or a pin-up calendar, your man will LOVE it and ADORE you for it. Unique and personalized. Perfection in sexy lingerie. Or out. : )

Since I’m working almost exclusively on boudoir sessions and parties, I thought I’d take a moment and show a few of my faves so far. The 50’s pin-up is extremely popular. I’m lovin’ the subtle seduction! And nothing’s better than a girl who knows what the “booty tooch” is. Rock on America’s Next Top Model!! LOL

While she came here for a Playboy submission, we eased into it by taking portraits with lingerie on just to get her a bit comfortable in front of the camera. It didn’t take long before all inhibitions were out the door and art was in the process of being made. Of course, the best ones can’t be shown at this time. Quite the bummer because Miss K ROCKED it out!!

The following portraits probably meet a NC-17 rating so please keep that in mind when previewing this sneak peek.

Absolute perfection { Beavercreek, OH Newborn Photographer }

If you are even thinking about thinking about having a baby, it’s probably not a good idea to be a newborn photographer. The uterine twitches when you’re holding a beautiful baby are a bit much to handle. And this one? My gosh, he was perfect. You can’t even begin to imagine how much fun it was to photograph him and snuggle in between poses.

This little man was just 7 days old. One week of absolute perfection. He slept very well for me and would easily fall into the milk drunk stage. Here is a sneak peek of his session.

Mr. Wade visited me a few months ago when he was just 3 weeks old. He was wide awake the entire session and I swear he even smiled at me. Well, a few months later, he brought his family back and he was just as alert and this time I know he smiled at me. What an adorable little man. And not to be outdone, his big brother Carter flashed his pearly-whites quite often, the perfect little poser. And check out his puppy eyes. My goodness!

Meet the Lamm family. We met early in the morning for fun family session and wowee, was it cold! The lighting was fantastic and the kids were awesome, so it was easy to forgive Mother Nature for the 37 degree weather. Especially when the temps hit 70 degrees by noon. Seriously?

Anyway, these gorgeous little ones are going to be welcoming another baby early next year. I know, you can barely tell, right!? Phle! Some people are blessed….I was not and I’m not still trying to work it off 3.5 years later. Geesh!

Winding down the season { Union, OH Family Photographer }

Yes, autumn is here and the windy, cool weather is definitely upon us. We’re looking at highs in the ‘50’s people! Whew! Cold!!! Actually, I think autumn is almost over and winter is peeking around the corner. Yuck, yuck, yuck! The gorgeous colorful leaves are few and far between. Lots of bare trees out there and it makes for a sad, sad time when it comes to photography. It seems the leaves turn and then fall within days of each other. : ( While the weather can be bearable, the landscape is much to be desired. I have three more family sessions left this week and I’m crossing my fingers for warm-er weather and a few trees with leaves.

One gorgeous family { Huber Heights, OH Family Photographer }

This is one gorgeous family, head to toes. Fun-loving, easy-going, and a blast to photograph.A brunette, a blonde, and a fire-redhead. Talk about using all your genes! The one thing I noticed that is consistent in this family is the beautiful eyes. Dad and Mom as well as all three boys had the most gorgeous blue or hazel eyes. They just sparkled. And who doesn’t just swoon over the Beiber haircut? They were like little Abercrombie models. Seriously?!

We had a bit of a struggle in the beginning of our session. It was originally planned in Springfield. Well as luck would have it, a big black cloud of doom hung over Springfield and poured down rain right before our session. Beautiful all day and then blech! We kinda looked around, tried to wait it out, then decided to try a completely different location. One with no rain.

Someone had a hand in guiding this session because look at these fantabulous portraits. I love them! Thanks for going along for the ride, guys. :) Enjoy the sneak peek!

Little boy blue x 2! { Oakwood, OH Family Photographer }

Moms of twins (or even twins themselves) are drawn to twins. Everywhere I go, I am approached and asked “Are they twins?” and then a personal story follows about how they are twins or they had twins and how old they are, or even how they knew a set of twins umpteen years ago. Sometimes, it can be annoying. Especially when they are dressed exactly the same and look exactly alike. I just wanna say “This one is mine, but I’ve never seen that child before in my life.” I’m sure it wouldn’t go over well. :)

Anyway, this family session includes a set of twin boys and they are my absolute FAVE twin boys! Blake and Heath have been coming to me for pictures since they were about a month old and I have thoroughly enjoyed watching them grow up. I simply can’t get over how big they have gotten. They’re like little men! And stylish ones at that! I truly adore them.

We had a great time and I worked up a sweat, as usual. I had forgotten how rambunctious 1 1/2 year olds can be. Times two! I hope Mom and Dad like the portraits. I think we got some pretty good ones. Here’s a sneak peek for everyone to enjoy.

Baby boy on the way! { Centerville, OH Maternity Photographer }

Babies are on the way and I love showcasing the baby bump prior to their arrival. Meet Abby and Kyle. Aren’t they adorable? Baby boy is coming next month and I’m so excited. I’ve been told that with 6 weeks still left to go, they are estimating Mr. Man to be 6 lbs. already. Hubba hubba!!!I can’t wait to get my hands on that little chub-a-wub.

So we had a wonderful maternity session with gorgeous lighting at a new venue. We couldn’t have asked for anything to be so perfect. Minus the monster spider, but we won’t talk about that. At all. OIweoingknweoiugha. Yes, that is my heebie-jeebie impersonation.

Crumpets and Tea { Union, OH Child Photographer }

I had a free day today due to a last minute rescheduling and I hated to waste the beautiful weather. Since I wasn’t able to work out a time with some clients, I decided to take advantage of the day myself. The girls and I grabbed some dolls, some costume jewelry, and some tea and crumpets to have a Tea Party. They had a blast. Only a few spills of the “tea” which was pear/apple juice. And mass consumption of crumpets. I mean really….when’s the last time mommy said “Here’s some cookies, eat as many as you want!”? Hehee.

And Miss Kailyn is one them. She exudes perfection with those gorgeous eyes, beautiful smile, and to-die-for curls. I had so much fun with little miss. Our modeling shoot took about an hour, 4 outfit changes and she was so pumped with each change. Fantastic!

With the last outfit, my fave Eiffel Tower sundress handmade by Lillipop Designs (LOVE THEM!!), I told her it was all about attitude. We needed to get her into her role as a French Mademoiselle. After a brief geography lesson and personal story of MY trip to Paris, I taught her how to say “Oh, darling!” just like Zsa Zsa Gabor. It was FANTABULOUS!!!

Mr. Man, Jack { Centerville, OH Child Photographer }

Jack is turning 1 year old in November. He was born just a bit premature and he’s currently a petite 17lbs., but let me tell you this….Jack is anything but small on personality. He’s full of spunk, gorgeous blue eyes, and a beautiful smile. Not to mention, isn’t he so stylish? I love the puffy vest!

We had an on-location photo session including a cake smash. Too fun! He never actually made it into the cake, but hey….who needs cake when you have icing? :)

Belly Dancer { Dayton, Ohio Commercial Photographer }

So I had a lot of people curious about my midnight session the other night. Well, it was quite a session and I enjoyed every minute of it. We called it quits about 1:30 a.m. and I couldn’t wait to see what we had on the cards.

Emily is a belly dancer in the Dayton, Ohio area. She dances on Saturday nights at Hookah Bazaar in Belmont, Ohio. Show starts at 11pm, you should definitely check her out!! Anyway, she needed a new portfolio for marketing materials. I was very excited when she contacted me. Our session was a last minute scrap-together which is why it was so late at night. Hooray for night shift workers, eh? :)

She bought a ton of elaborate outfits and we were thrilled to play with it all. I love all the fabulous colors and shimmering pieces. But my absolute fave is that last outfit. HOLY COW!! Here’s a sneak peek of the fun we had. Thanks Emily! Hope you enjoy!

Some people really astonish you when they get half naked and rock the session harder than if they had stayed fully clothed. I think there’s truth to be told in the old saying “Beware the quiet ones”. This reserved woman had the sex kitten hidden within. It wasn’t hard to find nor did it take much coaxing to come out. She had the look, the body, the clothes, and the attitude. Probably the easiest and fun session I’ve ever had. Thank you, Little Miss Hottie. I hope you enjoy the preview!

A year has passed already { Jamestown, Ohio Child Photographer }

Little Miss Ava is about to turn a year old and I can’t believe how much she’s grown. I photographed her as a newborn and I can honestly say she had a MUCH better time at this session. Her newborn session was pretty rough and I felt so sorry for the little one. She had reflux and just wasn’t comfy at all. Poor Mommy was in that stage of weepy and oh so tired. We were still able to capture some pretty pictures, thankfully.

Here’s a picture from that session. I love comparing newborn and 1 year old pictures. It’s amazing how much change and yet they’re still the same. Look at that sweet little nose! :)

This time, however, was a different story. Little Miss Ava is now Big Miss Ava and she has TONS of energy! She kept us both on our toes for the session and it was a blast. I love sweating for a good reason! Look at these gorgeous captures of a picture perfect county girl.

This little girl is about 5 weeks old and was so curious as to what we were doing. I adored her and she almost came home with me. Trust me, if I knew my husband wouldn’t have a fit, she would have. Sweetness.

Sparklin’ Senior Shoot { Washington Courthouse, Ohio Senior Photographer }

A few weeks ago we had a heat wave. Heat wave as in 104 degrees Fahrenheit with 70% humidity at 7:30 p.m. Miserable. It was so terribly hot that you would sweat while you were sitting inside the house with the air conditioner on doing absolutely nothing. Does anyone else remember this or am I completely delusion?

Well, I have slept since then so my memory isn’t quite perfect. So….I can’t quite recall how horrid it was but my DP&L bill sure does remind me. Ugh! I digress….during that monstrosity of a heat wave, I had a senior shoot. We decided to do half inside the studio and half on location at a later date. That date is here. Yay! Miss Breanna is a stunning Senior and we had so much fun with her and her mom.

We played outside until it was dark and were able to grab some fantabulous off camera flash portraits. She was a perfect model. Good God, would you look at those legs? They go on forever and a day!

And lastly, her Senior Storyboard. Breanna wanted a sparkler storyboard with her graduation date. Of course, our luck came into play. Once it got dark, we found a perfect alley to shoot the scene. Wouldn’t you know it was WINDY. And I mean Wizard of Oz insane windy. Duh!! We found a spot to light the sparklers and the lighter was dead. Ha! Found a new lighter, only to have no luck lighting the sparklers! Seriously?!

Off we go to a new location with 2 assistants lighting sparklers and FINALLY we got ‘em.

P is for Perfection { Union, Ohio Child Photographer }

And P is for Presley. Presley is the perfect example of a gorgeous baby girl. She just celebrated her first birthday and this was her first professional photo shoot. I personally think she did a fantabulous job at her debut, but perhaps I’m just a bit biased. :) We had such a great time playing and I’m so honored they chose me for their daughter’s pictures. Look at those eyes!

Return of Lady Abigail { Vandalia, Ohio Child Photographer }

Yes, it’s the return of the mack. I first met this little beauty when she was a newborn. The poor thing just wasn’t interested in sleeping. She’d catnap, but not for more than a few snaps. She had to see what was going on and not miss a thing. We got some beautiful pictures including this one:

Isn’t she a doll? Well, it gets better. Six months later, this is who shows up at my door.

Fantabulous, right?! I know!! I love her rolls!! Fast forward 6 more months (my gosh, how does that happen?!) and Lady Abigail is about to turn 1 year old. Baby girl was so stinkin’ adorable and working the camera. Yeah, she knows who the cutie pie is. :)

What’s goin’ on? { Waynesville, Ohio Newborn Photographer }

You know how photographers always want newborns who are 10 days old or younger? Ever wonder why? Newborns typically sleep 20 hours a day when they’re first born. Usually awake only to eat and to ask for a new diaper. Other than that, they are ultra flexible, still desiring to be curled up, and once they’re out….they are out like a light. After a few weeks though, they learn….”Hey, I’ve got lots of room here, let’s stretch these legs out” and they' start being more alert. That means we can’t bend ‘em, shape ‘em, wiggle ‘em around to get that sleepy baby pose. And everyone wants that sleepy baby pose. Sometimes we' get lucky and a 4 week old will act like a newborn and sleep through the entire session. Other times, not so much.

Well, Mr. W is 3 weeks old and we attempted a sleepy newborn session. Attempted is the key word. This Mr. Man was awake the ENTIRE session. He even followed me while I talked, only complaining when I touched him with my cold hands. Well, I’m here to tell you…I am SO glad this little man was awake. Things happen for a reason. And here is that reason.

Fantabulous family session { Beavercreek, Ohio Family Photographer }

I had the pleasure of meeting one of the most fantastic families yesterday. We walked around and captured some beautiful images of them being….well, them! Mom was worried that the boys would be crazy, but isn’t that what makes them boys? :) I personally thought they were awesome and took direction very well. Especially after we figured out that the request of a “MANLY” pose resulted in a flawless portrait. Not to mention, would you just look at their eyes? Umm, hello? GORGEOUS!

They were so much fun, willing to do silly things for the photographer (and in my mind, that makes them exceptional!) and even sat on the steps of an abandoned house. I’m pretty sure Zach would have gone inside to look for ghosts. Hehee.

Mom and Dad were perfection. Genuine laughter and in no rush. Criteria for a superb photo shoot. Thank you so much for the opportunity to capture your family dynamics. I had a great time and I hope you enjoy the sneak peek!

Custom dress for school pictures { Union, Ohio Child Photographer }

Yeah, it’s getting to be about that time. School pictures will be pushed and again they will be those lousy cheese smile behind the crappy background of paint spackles or light sabres. Blech!! I’m starting early because I change the paint in my living room based on the color scheme I choose for the kids’ pictures, as they are the main focus in my house. This year it is Lime Green. Carly is rockin’ the Lime Green boob-tube dress complimented by turquoise and hot pink with a hint of purple here and there. I personally made each of the flowers and sewed them onto her lapel. The purple ribbon straps were added to keep the dress from falling completely off. LOL Skinny girl. Phle!

She literally just woke up from a nap when I pulled her out of the car. Here she is waking up, the details of the dress, and a beautiful portrait of Miss Carly when she realized we were taking pictures of HER! Hehehe. Thanks for watching my babies grow up.

And then the one that will adorn my wall. My baby Carly. You are my sweetness, little girl. Thank you!

Friendship I HEART Faces entry

Occasionally, I have a moment to read blogs and visit my favorite websites. Of course, the majority of them have to do with photography. This week’s challenge at I Heart Faces jumped at me. I had to post this picture from last year. It’s my baby girl, Carly, and my friend’s son, Logan. Other than being just the cutest picture ever, it’s huge because Carly is NOT an affectionate girly-girl. And yet, out of the blue….there she is hugging Logan. *sigh* So sweet.

Beauty in small packages { Springboro, Ohio Newborn Photographer }

Have I ever told you how much I LOVE babies? I could snuggle with them all the time. I adore their new smell, their cute little grins (yah, yah, it’s gas, I know), their edible feet. I love it all!! I was very excited when Miss E was born. I have photographed her brother several times and it’s always been such a pleasure. He’s quite the ham and little sis bears a striking resemblance. So is she like him? I see so much of him in her pictures, but she’s definitely her own little lady. She’s got her own personality and funny faces. A lot of funny faces. : ) And a wiggle worm! It’s a good thing Mom is quick on the toes.

Big thanks to Dad for allowing P man to play with my kids without going crazy. I know they were probably very good birth control for you. Just FYI, your little princess worked her magic on me, she made me want another.

Smokin’ hot Senior session { Washington Courthouse, OH Senior Photographer }

And I’m not freakin’ kidding. It was 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Ohio is going through a heat spell and it’s absolutely ridiculous! We were supposed to head out on-location, but due to the heat and the 70% humidity (geezum pete’s…REALLY?!?), we decided to shoot some studio shots today. We’ll try again next week and hope for a break in the weather. Fingers crossed!

Photobooth time! { Youngstown, Ohio Wedding Photographer }

Scott and I built (yes, built) a photo booth for Rick and Shannon’s wedding reception. They wanted the photobooth pictures to be the favors for their guests. Brilliant and fun!

It was a joint effort and I’ll admit, it was built twice. The first time our communication was a bit off. I’m pretty sure the message was intercepted by aliens or something. Regardless, the second time around, Scott and I were on the same page and we were able to get to work.

It stood about 6 1/2 feet tall, was 3 feet wide, and held a 5 foot curtain. Just like a traditional photobooth, you walk in and close the curtain. Here it is!

When you walk in, you are standing in front of a monitor with quirky instructions to look at the camera and smile. Rather pose and really “work it” for the camera. We personalized the instructions with pictures from their destination wedding. Shannon and Rick were the guinea pigs and we left the momento in hopes that other guests would be inspired by their silliness.

When the pictures printed out, one strip was given to the guests and the other was placed into an album. The guests were encouraged to write little snarky comments or advice to the new couple. When the album was completed, it was given to Shannon and Rick. I WISH I had a picture of it. I had already packed my camera away when it was finished. Bummer!!

Here is a sample of the fun strips we printed out that night. My absolute favorite is the second picture in this strip of Shannon and Rick. It is the BEST picture…umm, evah! I know that any married person can relate and is sharing in my laughter.

They get a little silly and fun. But that’s the point! Enjoy!:)

Sensitive Soul { Kettering, Ohio Child Photographer }

Miss Evelyn came back to visit me for her 6 month birthday. This petite cutie was very stoic and wasn’t too sure about my silly ways. Mom says she’s a “sensitive soul'”. The first thing she did when she came to my house was cry at the very sight of me. Oh, no! Poor baby girl…:(

Oh, well, no biggie. Mom and Dad just had to jump in for a few shots. You work with what you got, right? I grew on her (a little!) and she even responded to my fart noises with a few smiles through the tears. It’s amazing how funny things can be when Daddy’s holding you! Of course, she smiled up a storm as soon as we put the camera away and it was time to go home. Ha! Next time, Miss E…You’ll have a fun time. I swear!

Yummy summer newborn { Vandalia, Ohio Newborn Photographer }

You may have noticed that I ran a special for maternity sessions and then no maternity sessions were posted on the blog. Yeah, sorry about that. My mom had emergency bypass surgery and I had to cancel everyone while I was in Florida. Of course, everyone delivered while I was gone. :)

So, what’s that mean? There’s gonna be a slew of newborns! LOL Here’s the first of the newborn sessions, though. Mr. Greyson was probably the easiest baby I have ever had the pleasure to photograph. We went outside and played, then came in for a few more fun ones. He slept for about 90% of the session. He was the kind of baby that newborn photographers dream about. Thanks Sherry and Mark for allowing me to be a part of your first beautiful moments together as a family. I had a great time with you and I hope you enjoy the sneak peek.

2nd sneak peek of Ohl wedding { Destination wedding Photographer }

Yes, I am an overachiever. And I swear I’m not slacking! I have been working on these wedding pictures since I returned from Playa del Carmen. There are TONS (and I mean umpteen TONS) of pictures to cull. I’m not even kidding when I tell you that I have over 100 MB of pictures to sort through. I have managed to make my way through half of them.

I’m hoping to finish them this week so in the meantime, this post is for Shannon and Rick. Fingers crossed this will tide you over until I have completed all the editing and uploaded your pictures. BTW, do you know how hard it is to stare at pictures of Mexico for hours on end while you sit listening to the rain AGAIN with a sweater on? I’m gonna go take a mental vacation for a while.

Shoes are a girl’s best friend { Dayton, Ohio Boudoir Photographer }

Truly. What woman doesn’t love shoes? They never make you look fat, in fact some are actually quite slimming. Heels. Sigh, they’re fabulous. They can be mix-matched with jeans or formal wear and still look great. You can be fashionable or the talk of the party. Heels just have a take notice sort of quality. Mini skirts may be a no-no after a certain age, but high heels are not. They come in all different colors, designs, and sizes. And the best part? They are not restricted to those girls who wear size 0 (Seriously? Size 0?! Go eat something already, will ya?? You are hungry!)

I digress, back to shoes. High heels are the perfect accessory and I LOVE THEM with my boudoir shoots. Nothing makes you feel or look sexier than a nice pair of heels. Aren’t these shoes fantabulous?

I cannot even begin to tell you how many pictures I have yet to cull, but wow….this one is a doozy. So a week after the ceremony, FINALLY!, here are some sneak peek portraits. More will come soon if my time allows.

I just have to say that I LOVE this family. Literally. Love them. They follow directions well, are up for anything, and literally do anything crazy that the photographer suggests. Ummm, easy? Can I trade? :) I can’t to see them at the reception.

Just who are we talking about? { Destination Wedding Photographer }

I’ve been talking about the destination wedding of Shannon and Rick for a while now. If you don’t follow my blog or you’re new around here, you may be thinking….”Umm, who?” Well, let’s take a walk and and I’ll introduce you to the most fab couple. We’ll go back to last summer and peek at their engagement session. We had so much stinkin’ fun!! We played at the park and then rode some fair rides. Umm, hello? Who wouldn’t have a great time doing that?? I truly can’t wait to see them in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. Shannon will be a beautiful bride and Rick? A complete a blast!! He’s a big kid. JUST LIKE ME!!! :)

My little ones are at the age that they want to choose what they wear. Sometimes, it isn’t pretty. I have to embrace the fact that they are growing up and making their own decisions. And I will have to accept that every decision they make will not be the right one or one I approve of.

Colton, my main man. He definitely marches to the drummer of a different beat. I love it!

Keira, my pretty girl. Loves dressing up and lets me do her hair. Momma’s lil girly-girl.

And then there’s Carly. She refuses to conform to the twin thing anymore. No more dressing alike, no more doing the same things, no more matching colors, nothing. So, it’s all her decisions when it comes to clothes. Sigh. There are no words.

I had the pleasure of meeting the stinkin’ cutest little girl today and she is a brand new big sister to a sweet baby boy. She was quite proud of her baby brother Nathan…and who wouldn’t be? And it’s just because I think she bears a striking resemblance to Jennifer Aniston, not because I don’t know her name. Oddly enough, it is Jennifer. LOL It has been beautiful outside and while the sun was VERY bright last night, the wind was quite chilly. She was a trooper, though. And I’m so happy she was because the sunset was perfection.

3 years and 3 months { Dayton, OH Child Photographer }

Yep, these little guys should look familiar. Mr. B is 3 years old and Mr. G is 3 months old. I can’t believe how quickly these little ones grow up. I feel like they were just here in the studio!! Well, Mr. B and I had a great time playing with Optimus Prime and Spiderman while Mr. G saved all his smiles for someone else. What’s up with that, G?!

I took a few of them together trying to get baby boy to lay on big brother’s tummy. Uhhh, not happenin’. He’s just at the stage of tummy time that the head instantly pops up. Yes, it bobbles, but never lands. In fact, if you wait too long then it’s cranky time. The best part was Mr. B did NOT like that Mr. G drooled on him. Umm…eww! Hahahaa! B, you’re awesome!

Here we go again! It was Scott’s second shoot and he exceled by leaps and bounds from his initiation shoot on Wednesday. Again, he was in charge of the shoot but I went along for moral support and just a tad bit of direction. I knew what he needed help on so I constantly asked about it during the shoot. I’m a bit controlling, it’s ok. I’ve embraced that side of myself. Now, if Scott would, we’d be great! :)

Yep, I made my hubby go out on his own. These portraits are all his handiwork. Ok, so I tagged along to assist with poses and humor, but hey, I didn’t wanna miss out on the fun! Ohhhhhh, a Mr. Someone is gonna be a happy, happy man when his anniversary gift is presented to him. I’ve already been told that it’s going to be given to him the first day of their trip, but I worry it might make it to his hands before they even leave. Hehee.

Little miss thang gave me an assignment and with the help of hair stylist, Nicole Coy, and make-up artist, Jen Lastnamehere, we got to work on one of the most enjoyable boudoir sessions. Don’t even let anyone tell you that you’d be uncomfortable or nervous. Cuz honey, it’s just not true here. We have FUN! Almost too much fun! LOL

Last but not least, Colton. He’s at that age that he wants his picture taken just because he wants mommy’s attention. But he doesn’t REALLY want his picture taken so I end up with a bunch of cross-eyed, tongue sticking out, mouth skewed pictures. Very frustrating. The only thing I can count on is that inevitably he laughs at himself because he knows I’m getting frustrated and then I get that perfect smile. Stinkerbutt.

Oh, and one more of Carly. See how serious she is? My goodness, it’s kinda scary how much she’s like her father. I swear she does smile. A lot.

I adore smash cake sessions. There is just something fun about the age, the ornery baby-toddler, the sneaky smiles, getting into EVERYTHING, and who can resist tearing into the cake? Yep, it was the first day of spring 2011 and we went outside! It was in the 70’s….so stinkin’ nice. True, it was a bit windy, but made for some interesting hair shots. Hehee. The kids loved it and it felt good to get out. Although we had some melt downs over toys we hadn’t seen in months, for the most part it was all good. Here’s my baby Keira enjoying her day out. Bridal Boudoir { Union, OH Boudoir Photographer }

Boudoir clients are usually hesitant of having their sexy pictures online. Understandable. I mean, come on…You have no idea what they’re going to look like and you’re in little to no clothing. It takes a lot of trust to blindly consent to online posting of your sexy pictures. So, it just tickles me to pieces when someone says “yes”! I think it makes me work harder to get them edited so I can show everyone! Hehee.

This little minx came to me all the way from Ft. Wayne, IN. You wanna talk about feeling honored? I’ve had quite a few from out of state this last month and I get all sappy, slap-happy that they travel all this way to see me!

I digress! This sexy thang is getting married in May. Her hubby-to-be will be receiving a rockin’ hot album of her sexiest pictures as his groom’s gift. All he is going to be able to say is “WOW!” : )

And I just have to do a shout out to my friend, Vilma, from GEM Photography is photographing her destination wedding. I know the pictures will be fantabulous!!

Twins: twice the work, twice the fun { Beavercreek, OH Child Photographer }

Any twin mother will tell you that twins are more than just twice the work. It’s probably closer to 10 times the work. I’ve often been told “I know what you’re going through, my kids are 15 months apart.” Without being snide, let me tell you that having children close in age is not the same as having multiples. Even Irish Twins are not the same.

I won’t go into details of how your belly is stretched beyond capacity or how many diapers you really go through or how 3 hours of straight sleep is a vacation because sometimes there is NO sleep between feedings. How big your biceps get from carrying both babies all the time to avoid the “he’s your favorite child” accusations or how you learn to ‘divide and conquer’ BY YOURSELF when they become mobile or how for the rest of your life you will hear “Are they twins? Wow, you’ve got your hands full.”

Nope, don’t wanna bore you with those nitty gritty details. However, I will share with you how much of a joy it is to experience twindom. Your twins have a built-in playmate and best friend. What could be better than that? Yes, it is a lot of work and I wouldn’t change it for the world. It truly is 10 times if not 100 times the fun. There’s so much to celebrate when it comes to twins, but the best way is to show you. Can you imagine triplets, quads, or more? Wow, lots of love and fun!

Oh my goodness, this little morsel is the epitome of gorgeous 6 month old baby rolls with a simply beautiful drooly smile. I photographed Abby when she was born and let me tell you, I coulda picked her out of a baby line-up. Come on Spring! {Dayton, Ohio Child Photographer}

It has been so lovely around these parts lately. It’s terrible that I’ve had to waste few them actually working! I have been waiting patiently for it to warm up and take my kiddos outside for a photo shoot. Ok, ok…I’ve been dying to get out and use natural light. Studio light is fun, but natural light is da bomb!!!

This wasn’t the first day it was warm since the Ice Age episode a few weeks ago. But it was the first day that it was warm and I wasn’t working. So, we loaded up the truck and we moved to Beverly. Wait, no…that’s not right. : ) We loaded up the kids and headed downtown.

Each child was given a spot and I had a little one on one time with them. We haven’t done that since last fall. It was so much fun!! I have to tell you that I am simply lovin’ the age of my girls. They are so eager to pose and dress up and play with their hair. I can just imagine the pictures I’m gonna have this year! Now Colton, well….that’s another story. He was just cheesing it today.

My little man

Of course, it’s been hectic and busy and crazy here in the Bingham household. My dude turned 4 years old on Tuesday. We celebrated with a Spiderman cake (courtesy of yours truly!), bowling, and pizza (courtesy of Cousin Vinny’s). We nearly had tears when we discovered that our reservation for bowling party of 12 was “lost”. Yes, I’m talking about me. They were kind enough to let a little boy bowl 5 frames for free after I threatened to have a full-out throw-down temper tantrum. No pictures, of course, because it was league night. *rolls eyes*

Oh, let’s not forget the 2” ice storm that kept us housebound for almost a week. So fun. It’s still only in the ‘teens here. Brrrr! Add in treats for school, photo sessions, and Valentine’s Day and you’ve got one tired momma.

So, once it warms up, we’'ll get a proper 4 year old session. But for now, this quick snap of my little man on his way to school will just have to do. Don’t mind the messy bed-head. It’s what all the kids are wearing these days. :)

Oh, how I adore baby girls { Dayton, Ohio Newborn Photographer }

So many things to dress them up in, so little time. :) Little Miss E came to visit me yesterday. She was just 4 days old and itty bitty at almost 6 pounds when she left the hospital. Newborn sweetness at its finest. Mom and Dad were so cute…and so tired. As most first time parents are. I wish them an easy transition these first few months of life. I hope many loved ones offer help and support (and naps!!). Been there, done that moms and dads know where they are and cringe at the thought of sleep deprivation, late night playtimes, and paci dances. I personally miss it, but everyone knows I’m a little bit crazy. :)

I Heart Faces | Best Face Photo of 2010 Entry

I love playing along with I Heart Faces, although admittedly, it’s not nearly as often as I’d like. Three kids keep me on my toes and away from the PC. On rare occasions I’m able to peruse and take a minute or two to participate in their challenges. I’m happy to present my entry to the Best Face Photo of 2010. This was an awesome friend of mine whom I ~~suckered~~ talked into doing a Trash the Dress session.

We went a few places, played in some gorgeous light and then stumbled upon a river. I was so excited that I could barely explain what I wanted her to do. She looked at me like I was crazy when I told her I wanted her to get in the water with the dress on. I should also mention it was a cool September day and it was close to sunset. Yeah…it was cold water. My feet were frozen so I knew she was close to being a margarita on the rocks.

She sat in the water, posed, twisted, turned, posed again. Let me tell you, she did a fantastic job. And then I decided to go for broke. I asked her to dip her hair in the water, roll around, go underwater and come up….slowly, showing just her eyes. I knew it had to be an amazing shot or I could pretty much count this friendship as over. LOL I still can’t believe she did it. And I love the picture we captured. Meghan is amazing. I can’t thank her enough.

I’m always happy to have a willing participant. Especially those who listen and follow directions well. Ten year olds are typically perfect for that. There’s just something about a 2 or 3 year old that requires them to look away from the camera whenever it is pointed in their general direction. :) Maybe it’s just me.

So my niece, Kirsten came over for a holiday visit and I took that as an awesome opportunity for a photo shoot. Not to mention, we had fantabulous light and a Wii to occupy the kids! So here’s a sneak peek of the fun stuff.

Having a photography business that is run solely on word of mouth means I never really know what clients want from me. I know they want pictures taken to a high degree of certainty. Other than that, I have no idea what they were told and what they expect. Was the person who referred them to me honest about me and my bubbly personality? Did they overlook the urban and boudoir style I choose for 90% of my shoots? Were they told that feet are a pretty big deal for me and I like to shoot feet no matter who you are. I realize that I am just as responsible for meeting them half way and allow them to become more comfortable around me. I do, I do. I size you up and figure out your personality and how far I can push mine to get the desired affect: Great portraits. But ultimately, I’m still taking pictures of your feet whether you like it or not. :)

Well, let me tell you Mr. Man was not told that feet is a biggie for me. He was not prepared for a foot shot and needed to have an emergency pedicure prior to. :) He learned a few things about me today. I am bubbly, I like to have fun, I have different ideas of what is fun and looks great in a picture, squish is the best way to achieve that, and I like feet. I use all of these aspects in my photography whether in studio or outdoors. And I get that feet shot. Hehehe.

Onto the cutest family! Very photogenic and easily moldable into the models you’ll see here. Gorgeous!! And best of all, they were up for anything. My favorite clientel! :) Who wouldn’t want to be part of this family?

Newborn Sweetness, Baby G { Dayton, Ohio Newborn Photographer }

I spent the morning with baby G and his gorgeous family yesterday. First of all, no woman should look this good 10 days postpartum. You would have NEVER guessed she had a baby. To say the least, it was disgusting and I’m not jealous at all. I had every intention of holding onto my baby weight for the last 3 years. I have been extremely successful in that endeavor. Yeah. :)

Anyway, I’ve missed doing baby sessions. Mr. G was so alert and didn’t want to miss a thing. I think babies know we’re waiting on them because any other time, they’re fast asleep and hard to wake up. Mr. G just wasn’t into that little thing we call sleep. It’s a good thing he’s super cute. :) Here’s a sneak peek of my favorites from the session.

And I had to share this picture. One of my favorite outtakes ever. Any newborn photographer can attest that with a newborn session, things can get a little messy. :) You just never know where the line of fire is. Thankfully, they don’t have aim at this time. Hehehe.

These little guys are getting bigger and a bit more aware of what’s going on. And right after naptime, not a whole is goin’ on. At least in the smile department. Hehee. I, of course, decided it was time to break out some props. Ornaments seemed harmless and fun. As did the cookies and a rocking chair. I forgot that there is no such thing as harmless when you’re 9 months old. :) Teething is a wonderful thing. And watching your children chew on anything is a great way to document this special time in their lives. Boys, I truly hope you enjoyed the glitter balls. And I hope Mommy wasn’t too upset about the ‘no smiles’. You get what they give you. Today was serious. And the need to gnaw. :) Enjoy the preview!

Family Session { Union, Ohio Family Photographer }

Sessions in the late autumn, early winter are very hard to do outside. The cold weather and short amount of great daylight limit you when you try to get those perfect family shots. It’s just the nature of the beast. Yes, I have a studio but I prefer on location shoots for families if I can make it happen. I’m willing to try it at least once, anyway.

The obstacles we have to overcome are many, but what’s wrong with a little challenge? It keeps you on your toes. Sunset is at 5:30pm-ish and who’s really off work and ready by that time? First thing in the morning offers great light so 8am it is. Too bad that cold temperatures get to ya really quick and before long we have runny noses and red cheeks. We don’t want the dreaded winter coats in the pictures so the only way to avoid that is to take them off and freeze for the moment. And don’t exhale….we don’t want the fog. Throw in a lil’ man who really doesn’t appreciate getting up early to run around outside without a coat to get pictures taken….and we’ve got the makings of a great family photo shoot. Hahaha!

It’s a good thing he’s cute. :) Take 2 will be coming up shortly but here’s a few I managed to capture before the meltdown.

O.M.G. Miss Ryleigh was a complete and utter joy. A breath of fresh air with a realization of why I got into photography. I thoroughly enjoyed the time her parents and grandma allowed me to hold, nuggle, play with, and pose her. Ryleigh and I got along fantabulously. We talked, we smiled, we played dress up, we ate, and we napped. Ok, ok, so I talked and smiled and dressed her up….and she ate and napped. But really….details aren’t that important. :) The best part of the day was she didn’t initiate me, just her dad. He was a great sport about it!

Breast Cancer Awareness Contest at I Heart Faces

This week’s theme at I Heart Faces is in celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness month. The requirements of the picture include a face and the color pink. The color pink, of course, brings the images of little girls to mind. My little girls aren’t quite so frilly and girly and playful and whatnot. However, I have had many opportunities to photograph the beautiful baby girls. This one in particular just strikes me as stunning. It’s one of my favorites of all time. I think the pink flower just makes the picture POP! You’re instantly like “Awwwww, what an adorable baby girl”. I love it!

I love photographing twins! I think that having twins gives an advantage that most photographers don’t have. Experience. Personal experience from birth to age two. Been there, done that. Due to personal reasons, our photographer had to cancel our family session at the last minute. I prepped like a mad dog for this shoot for months. From hair accessories to shoes to coordinating (not matching) outfits for the entire family TIMES TWO! for months. I even had my hair done the day before with intentions of wrapping it up like they did in the ‘olden’ days so I wouldn’t have to attempt to make it look near as good as my hairdresser did. The amount of money and time I spent on this day is beyond belief. So when it was canceled, to say I was disappointed was an understatement. I decided to take matters into my own hands.

And that was a disaster. LOL If it could go wrong, it did. And then some. What was supposed to be a great family day turned into a nightmare of tears. Most of them were mine. Hehee. There’s a reason that photographers hire OTHER photographers to take their family portraits. As you’ll see, there are no pictures of us as a family. Just more pictures of my kids. And one of my unwilling husband. I have to drag him by the ears in order to get him to model for me. Geesh, what’s a woman gotta do to get a good picture of her family? :)

So, none of me even though I was prepared. Maybe next time.

After weeks and weeks of barely any precipitation, I had to schedule the family mini sessions on the day the thunder rolled. LOL Mother nature was in a foul mood today and ruined my plans. I watched the light nearly disappear while I waited for my second family to arrive. From bright and sunny to cold and dreary. I kid you not when I say the temperature dropped 21 degrees, the skies turned dark black, and the leaves flew out of the trees and were whipping in the wind. Those things hurt when they hit you! LOL It occurred in literally 5 minutes. So needless to say, you will be seeing this family again. We’ve rescheduled for Friday and I’ve got my fingers crossed that it’ll be a good day. In the meantime, I got a few to share ‘til Friday.

My babies’ school pictures { Union, Ohio Child Photographer }

Yesterday, I previewed Colton’s first school picture. Yes, I know he’s in preschool….please don’t give me any grief. I give myself enough. :) Like almost everyone else, I was suckered into buying his “first school picture”. Ugh! I could kick myself!! It wasn’t even a good picture, but I kept hearing my husband say “This is his first school picture. He’ll never have that again. If you don’t buy it now, you’ll never be able to again and you’ll hate yourself.” Trust me, I hate myself. I spent a buttload of money for a crappy 8x10 that isn’t even cut straight!!!

I’d show it to you but that would be against copyright laws. Every photographer and their work should be respected. Please don’t copy, reproduce, scan, print, etc. without written permission people. It’s just rude. Off my soapbox now.

So to make myself feel better and prove to myself that I do have a lick of sense (cuz believe me when I say that I wasn’t feeling like I had any after that fiasco!), I took my kids out for their first “official” school picture by Lynne Bingham Photography. And then to feel extra special, I ordered them in 16x20’s on styrene to put up in my living room. In color! For those of who you know me well, that’s a step outside the box. Hehehe. Anyway, I wisely invested in Lynne Bingham Photography and I feel better now. Colton’s other school picture will go in a keepsake box. LOL

Smash cake for Mr. Callum { Arcanum, Ohio Child Photographer }

Omigosh. Seriously, I cannot believe Mr. Callum is one year old. I can still remember taking his newborn photographs. I fondly recall how sweet and squishy his cheeks were (and as you can see….they still are!) I wanna ‘nubble’ him every single time he’s here. For those who aren’t in the know of my made up vocabulary, that’s snuggle and nibble at the same time. My kids love that. :)

He’s such a happy baby and I love taking his picture. This time was no exception. The smash cake was a hit, for a little while anyway. After that, he just wanted to tackle me and my camera. Smart little cookie, isn’t he? :)

Mom brought the curtains from his nursery to use a backdrop. She even coordinated the cake. So stinkin’ cute! Here’s a sneak peek for his parents. Enjoy!

I love this family. Really. I’m not just saying that. They’re like an extension of my own family. A lil’ crazy. A lot o’ fun. A lil’ crazy. Oh wait….I already said that. :) Hehee. Oh well….it’s true. Senior sessions are a blast! They’re always in such a great mood, lots to smile about, optimistic about the future, and maybe it’s just that I feel like I got off the fashion train years ago (I hate being old! LOL) but uhh….hello?! Can you say awesome clothes? Wow! I’d love to be able to throw anything on and look fantabulous in it. Oh, to be young and hip again. :)

Here’s a preview of my latest senior session. Yes, this is the one whose Dad thought it was funny to say he thought he saw a snake in the grass and then throw something in that direction to make the grass move. Needless to say, it scared the bejeezus out of her and me. So not cool. At least I wasn’t the only one screaming like a little girl. Hehee.

Papa-papa-paparazzi { Dayton, Ohio Wedding Photographer }

Yes, the Lady Gaga song rings in my head every time I pull this lens out. For those of you who don’t know (and no worries….I didn’t either just a few short months ago), this is a Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L II IS USM Telephoto Zoom Lens for Canon SLR Camera. It’s a mouthful. And a handful. Trust me when I tell you, this is an absolutely massive lens. It weighs 5.4 lbs. and is almost the size of the wine bottle. Whoa! It probably doesn’t sound like much, but seriously…there are babies born that weigh less than this thing.

Once you add it to my 5D Mark II, grip, and 580exii speedlight (which in total is another 8lbs.), it’s like carrying a small toddler. On your face! Over 13 lbs. ON YOUR FACE. Think about that for a second. Imagine taking a 6 month old and holding it up to your face for an hour minimum. Up and down. Up and down. Now, bend and find the right angle. Or get down on the ground. Find the light. Oops, not that much light. There ya go. *Shudder* Brutal. As God as my witness, I will be able to use this lens without cramping, shaking, or tiring out in 15 minutes. Granted, I may have to start a weight lifting routine in order to do it. :) Ha!

Sometimes I get caught up in photographing clients that it slips my mind why I got into photography to begin with. I wanted to document the important things of my kids’ lives. I wanted to capture all those little moments. I wanted visual proof of their budding personalities. Sometimes, day to day life gets in the way and I forget. Then I see something and I gotta just stop what I’m doing, pick up the camera, and capture my kids being….well, kids. Silly, loud, messy kids. :) These pictures may not be technically correct, but I’ll always have mommy-goggles on so they’re perfect in my eyes.

Thumbs up! I love how Colton has to look at his hand to make sure he’s doing it right. Hehehe.

And let’s not forget his shadow, Carly. She does everything he does.

And then there’s my Keira. She marches to the beat of a different drum. But I love her just the same. :)

Here’s a preview of some of the school pictures I’ve been working on. I tell ya….some of these kids are just plain model-esque. We were never that way when I was a kid. We had ratty hair (ok….rat tails, too!), half of us had a mullet, a Madonna gap, and horrid hand-me-down clothes from our older cousins. Did I just show my age? Eek!

Mr. Man who was completely unable to NOT fake smile. Until of course, you called him out on it. Then he would smile the most gorgeous smile while he explained why he couldn’t give a genuine smile. LOL

What to wear and a FREEBIE { Dayton, Ohio Family Photographer }

I have lots of family sessions coming up. The changing of the seasons from hot to cool air compounded with the colors of the leaves is a fabulous time for family portraits. One of the most common questions I have is “What should we wear?” My first and foremost answer, avoid all one color….especially white, black, or khaki. Yawn….boring! For the love of Pete, give your portraits some LIFE! Take a moment and reflect on your family. What are their personalities? Are they carbon copies? All white T’s and jeans? Everyone black shirt and khakis? Nope. So why try to make a family portrait that way?

Everyone is different, but you compliment each other. Your clothes should mimic this concept. Find a color palette that fits the portraits you want, compliments each other, and incorporate individual personalities. Don’t forget to accessorize. Shoes, bows, jewelry. The little details are very important. Choose articles of clothing that have texture such as ruffles, denim, corduroy and mix ‘em up. Dress it up…why be all casual? When you look great, you feel great and THAT comes across in your pictures.

Even giving these tidbits are often not enough. I still get people who have no idea where to begin. So, here are some visual ideas for fall family sessions. How perfect is this? :)

Just a bit more of a preview from Matthew and Angelika’s wedding. They are such a fun-loving couple. Never a dull moment and always up for anything. I couldn’t have asked for more. I had a fantabulous time at their wedding. Here’s a few of my favorites (and that was hard to do!):

Their first look was in private. Just me and them. What an emotionally charged moment.

Formals were at a different location and I’m sure everyone thought I was insane for choosing an abandoned building. But I loved the wild vines and worn down brick. It made them even more stunning.

Mangino Wedding Preview { Dayton, Ohio Wedding Photographer }

What a whirlwind day! One I won’t soon forget. :) She was a gorgeous bride and once the dress went on, she definitely put you in mind of a Barbie Doll! And he was cool, calm, and collected unlike any groom I’ve ever met. Maybe it was the shot of vodka that my husband took him out for. LOL Of course, no wedding day goes perfectly and this one was no exception. But I have to say that I think they both handled the issues gracefully and at the end of the day, we had a gorgeous husband and wife. I feel so honored to have been a part of their special day. I wish you both nothing but happiness and love. This is just a small preview of what’s to come.

I cannot believe how fast these little boys are growing up. I met them when were just a few weeks old and they graced my kitchen table for a natural light photography newborn session. Oh so beautiful and too stinkin’ cuddly.

Today, they’re 6 months old. They’re itching to crawl, roll over, sit up, grab everything, eat anything. They weren’t too sure about me. I must be a lot to take on. :) All my friends who just read that are cracking up at the understatement. Hmmpf.

Regardless, the little men played for a bit and we got some great portraits. I got a few smiles (and a few tears, but we’re not counting those). I know for a fact that next time, they’ll remember me and I’ll get all kinds of smiles. The 9 month session is a breeze!

Trash the Dress session. Just exactly as it sounds. Take the dress (wedding, prom, etc.) and wear it again. This time wear where you wouldn’t ever expect to see it. It’s ok if it gets dirty, if it gets wet, if it gets trashed. Wear it where it’s weird or just downright taboo. Why wear it just one day if it’s that important? And for those of you haven’t had the American wedded bliss, what’s stopping you from wearing it again and looking fantabulous in it again after the divorce? Just a thought. :)

Little Miss A was full of spunk and made me eat crow. I tell parents that typically it can take up to 3 hours for a newborn session, but we will definitely hit a sleep cycle during that time. Miss A proved me wrong. She refused to cooperate with my plans and showed me who was boss! LOL I’m so glad her parents were understanding and willing to wait it out for 4 1/2 hours. It’s a good thing she’s beautiful, huh? :)

O.M.G. I had so much stinkin’ fun last night with Shannon and Rick. When planning an engagement session, it’s almost important to think about who YOU are so that your pictures match your personality, your style. Shannon put a lot of thought into this session. She knew it had to capture them, their essence, their spirit, their love. She told me that Rick was very child-like (and not in an immature way), but rather he liked to have fun. Good ol’ fashioned fun. And as you can see by the 3rd picture, he’s quite mischievous, too. :)

What better way to show that love than by going ‘way back’. Back when you played outside and had to come home when the streetlights came on. When you went to the carnival with your parents and ate so much cotton candy you got sick to your stomach. When spinning in circles just to get dizzy was the best thing since sliced bread! Bubbles, swings, sidewalk chalk, parks, and the county fair.

Oh, yes. We went there. And I LOVED it!!! Shannon and Rick…I had a BLAST and I hope you did, too. Here’s a preview of your e-session. I hope you like them. :)

Today, we went to the park with my friend Amanda and her son, Logan. Let me tell you that he has no fear. At 14 months of age, he climbed up a VERY tall slide by himself and would have slid down alone if we would have let him. Fearless! My girls and Mr. Man had a blast playing on the slide and the merry go round. I love taking them to the park. I just wish I had 8 arms in order to keep them all at bay. If I did, I’d do it by myself. But I don’t, so I won’t. I maybe crazy but I’m not insane. :)

My first wedding is next month….in fact, it’s only 23 days away!! Eek! I’m so stinkin’ excited and nervous all at the same time. You’d think I was the one getting married. Hehee. I’m preparing like crazy, making sure I don’t forget something (you know, like a battery!) or do something stupid (you know, like leave my ISO too high and blow all my pictures!). I just don’t wanna make mistakes. I just wanna make it perfect for Angelika and Matthew!!

So, last night we had our engagement session. Angelika and Matthew were a blast to be around! Great sense of humor, playful, good lookin’ couple and totally in love. I love seeing that. :) They made me at ease and I know it helped both of them to see me in action. Now, they know what to expect the day of!
